From the start these seems to be a movie of a troubled fifteen year old boy. As the movie progresses, Donnie begins to see hallucinations and talks to his therapist about them. It is assumed that he has schizophrenia, but when his hallucination, Frank (a man in a bunny suit), lures him out of his house and saves his life, you have to wonder what forces are really at work. Throughout the movie, Donnie destroys buildings and messes with the lives of the people around him, in the end causing a terrible tragedy. When he realizes he has the ability to time travel, he must decided to do it over or make the ultimate sacrifice in order to save the only person he truly cares about.
